The Chair-i-ty Digital Collection preserves and provides access to images of the art works that were imaginatively created out of pieces of campus history. Over sixty artists, leaders, and celebrities from the Reno community participated in creating works of art from retired oak lecture hall chairs from the University of Nevada, Reno. The project was sponsored by the Friends of the University of Nevada, Reno Library and culminated in an auction held on July 10, 2005 as part of Reno Artown 2005. The proceeds were added to the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center building fund.
