Searching for Maps and Geospatial Information

Map information spans the disciplines from science to social science to the arts, and can be a great addition to any research project.  The Mary B. Ansari Map Library in the DeLaMare Library provides access to all types of both physical and online maps and geographical information. Maps of Nevada

If your topic is Nevada-related, you will find great historical maps within the Nevada in Maps digital collection of over 4000 historical maps and atlases. For print maps of Nevada and the West, you may also want to look at historical maps held in Special Collections & Archives; visit or contact Special Collections to learn more about their map collections.

Cataloged Maps

To find hard-copy cataloged maps within the University of Nevada, Reno Libraries, you can search OneSearch with the keywords for the geographic area you area looking for, and then limit to content type Map under More... button. While only a portion of the University map collections are cataloged, you will find maps located in DeLaMare Library, Special Collections, and in the Government Documents collection by searching in OneSearch. You can limit to a particular location through the Library Location facet.
