Working in the Libraries

What has been your favorite thing about working in the Libraries?: I really enjoyed working with various forms of materials! It was interesting to learn how to handle them all. It was also cool to look over and capture historical documents that I never would've been in contact with otherwise.

Can you tell us about a favorite memory or job-related achievement from your time working here?: One of the best achievements was finishing scanning and post production for a large scale capture project for the school.

What’s next for you?: I would like to go to grad school and earn a PhD in cellular and molecular biology! Eventually I want to go into disease research.

From Katherine, Megan’s supervisor: Megan is incredibly hardworking and even-keeled.  She does not bat an eye at the unusual digitization projects that come her way!  Whether it is a heavy ledger, a tiny negative, or a ten-foot map, Megan takes on digitization requests with grace and diligence.  I will miss her, especially her conscientiousness and willingness to learn a new process. Megan was part of the student team that digitized the student newspaper.  The Sagebrush was founded in 1873 so she helped scan over 100 years' worth of historical newspaper, which at current count is over 37,000 pages!  From digitizing everyday news to satire, it was quite the project, and she should be very proud.
