Working in the Libraries

What has been your favorite thing about working in the Libraries?: My favorite part of working in the Libraries has been working here for almost 3 years, and getting to working in both Building Operations and the Administration Office. I have met and built relationships with so many great people in the MIKC from all different departments. I have learned so many great skills from both positions, and have grown personally and professionally! I will always be grateful for these opportunities and cherish my time at the MIKC.

Can you tell us about a favorite memory or job-related achievement from your time working here?: I have grown professionally through the skills I have gained and tasks I have completed in the Administration Office. This position has allowed me to explore the human resource field, and build my resume to take on to the workforce. I have become an I-9 authorized personnel for the university as well.

What’s next for you?: After graduation I plan to join the workforce with my business management degree, specifically in the human resource field. I will either be staying in Reno or moving to the Bay Area, CA to continue my professional career. I am excited for what the future holds!

From Mary, Morgan’s supervisor: Morgan is always willing to learn new things and seems genuinely interested in the projects she's given. She's unafraid to ask questions and accepts feedback easily. She is very proactive in asking for work and ensuring everything stays on task.

I was only allowed one license for my student workers to help with student hire and termination ticket queue. I selected Morgan for the task as she consistently worked the most days per week. She was so exceptional at managing the queue and getting students into Workday that when I had to take back over during Winter Break, I almost couldn't remember what to do! The student hiring done during the fall and spring semesters would not have happened as easily as it did without her diligent work.
