Working in the Libraries
What has been your favorite thing about working in the Libraries?: I love everything about the KC (and especially the @One) but I have to say my favorite part is all the people. Everyone from my extremely caring and supportive supervisors to all of my friendly coworkers and also the generally community I have had the privilege of interacting with, has been amazing.
Can you tell us about a favorite memory or job-related achievement from your time working here?: I have so many great memories from my time working at the @One, but if I had to choose… all of the fun end of the year celebrations (where I’d occasionally win at Mario Kart) definitely stood out. A more achievement based memory is definitely some of those summer Production hours where we would be working together to get some large jobs done and making it into a competition of sorts.
What’s next for you?: After I graduate, I’m moving up to Seattle to live with my partner and I’m hoping to find a decent tech job and a good community of people.
From Nicole, Zephyr’s supervisor: Zephyr is a very diligent and dependable worker who I could always rely on in a pinch. He quickly became my reliable evening and weekend employee, always making sensible decisions when some of the more 'weird' situations came up (like unexpected power outages LOL) - also eventually earning himself a spot as a "tier 3.5" to assist with some more advanced tasks during my maternity leave.
