Working in the Libraries

What has been your favorite thing about working in the Libraries?: I have had the opportunity to work with people who have benefited my research, and have supported my academic life throughout my time at the Libraries.

Can you tell us about a favorite memory or job-related achievement from your time working here?: I was given the opportunity to work with Chrissy Klenke on a GIS project. This project was beyond the standard scope of my research, and Chrissy spent hours working with me to create a project that can be used for research and teaching. It was through the connections made while working at the Libraries that this opportunity was made available.

What’s next for you?: I will be working towards my Ph.D. in the UNR Department of Geography under Dr. Csank to further my interdisciplinary research and work.

From Veronica, Brandon's supervisor: Brandon has been one of my best student workers. He has a great work ethic and a good rapport with his peers. As a lead, he has helped to organize work efforts in our department and has helped to train many new hires. I'm very grateful to have Brandon in my department! Brandon recently took it upon himself to complete a major shifting project in the stacks. He identified a large section needing improvement and he got to work. That drive and self-motivation is part of what makes Brandon a great employee.

Brandon’s chosen book from the Libraries’ collection:

Children of Ash and Elm : a history of the Vikings
