Working in the Libraries
What has been your favorite part of working in the Libraries?: My favorite part has been meeting new people, becoming friends with coworkers, and connecting with others.
Can you give us one (or more) example of an achievement or special memory from your time working for us?: Some special memories include the student appreciation celebrations. I really appreciated them, and I enjoyed being able to spend time with coworkers all at once and learning about our supervisors here at the @One.
What is next for you? Short-term or long-term plans: I plan to take a year off from school and then do my Master's in Social Work. In the meantime, I hope to obtain a job in the field while I work on getting licensed.
Supervisor Responses from Nicole Allen:
What has been your favorite part of working with Jane?: What I appreciated most about working with Jane was her gentle, quiet way of bringing people together; through her natural empathy and thoughtful presence, she helped create a space where coworkers felt heard, appreciated, and genuinely connected.
What is one job-related achievement or memory of Jane?: Jane is one of our lead workers and is currently in charge of keeping our storage (both digital and physical) organized and easy to navigate. She has also been our consistent opener for most of her time here with us, with over 200 opening shifts under her belt—we appreciate you getting up early for us, Jane!
