Working in the Libraries
What has been your favorite thing about working in the Libraries?: There are many great things about working at the libraries, be it the amazing staff, the flexible work environment, and more. But if I had to choose one it would be working with the large printers at the production desk! Having access to high-quality printing equipment and learning about the process and materials is super interesting and it comes with the added bonus of helping me get some prints of my own.
Can you tell us about a favorite memory or job-related achievement from your time working here?: One of my favorite memories of working at the @One is during the summer when Panera just opened. Me and some other coworkers made it a routine to make our special "energy drink" which was just a mix of Charged Lemonade and Lemon-Lime Soda. It became such a routine (we went every 2 hours) that the workers at Panera would start recognizing us and we would have our own drink carrier for that purpose alone.
What’s next for you?: I’ll be returning UNR as a master’s study in Social work for the next three years.
From Nicole, Rino's supervisor:
Rino’s ability to approach challenges with clear thinking and provide thoughtful input made him a trusted go-to of mine. I knew I could always rely on him to help problem solve and keep things running smoothly in Production—even during the incredibly busy times!
Back when UNR was still hosting them, Brandon, Rino, and I eagerly (and not-so-patiently) awaited Food Truck Wednesdays on campus each week. We had a favorite vendor that served tacos in several styles: al pastor, carnitas, carne asada—all delicious. But one day, when we went for lunch, we were dismayed to find they weren’t in their usual spot and were worried they had closed. We ended up running all over campus, desperately trying to track them down so we could get our much-needed taco fix! When we finally found them, we were beyond relieved.
