Working in the Libraries

What has been your favorite part of working in the Libraries?: Learning new skills and handling historic documents (Washoe Tribal specifically).

Can you give us one (or more) example of an achievement or special memory from your time working for us?: I enjoyed scanning all the Mackay Thesis maps at the Mary B. Ansari Map Library.

What is next for you? Short-term or long-term plans: Next, I plan to work while I earn my Masters of Anthropology degree online.

From Katherine Dirk, Candace's supervisor

What has been your favorite part of working with Candace?: Candace jumped right into the deep end of digitization and learned how to digitize manuscripts, fragile show bills, maps, negatives, photographs, and historical records in a short amount of time. I so appreciate her willingness to learn, her ability to be flexible, and her attention to detail.

Please share one job-related achievement or memory of Candace: Candace helped finish off a large, multiyear, digitization project with a community partner. She scanned over 17,500 pages of historical ledgers. What a feat!
