Working in the Libraries

What has been your favorite thing about working in the Libraries?: I loved the community surrounding the library. Everyone working at the DLM is so kind and accommodating. We also provide so many services for different people in Reno, which allowed me to meet people with various stories and backgrounds. Overall, it is a fun and lovely place to work.

Can you tell us about a favorite memory or job-related achievement from your time working here?: My favorite memory is taking pictures for the library. Although it was a normal work day for me, it was fun to participate and model for the photos. It was also great to see how they used the photos and put them all over the university libraries and their websites.

What’s next for you?: I am planning to go into re-entry and legal services to find ways to better people's lives who are involved with the legal system. I would like to get a job in my field and also volunteer in programs whose goals are to help people and provide good things in their lives.

From Maria, Mishalay's supervisor: Mish is very knowledgeable of the job, given it requires attention to detail for the many different actions required at the service desk. Mishalay has been the longest working student in DeLaMare, throughout her undergrad and now her graduate years. She has become an image appearing in many publications and sites, noticeable for her pizza earrings.

Mishalay’s selected book from the Libraries’ collection:

You Like it Darker, by Stephen King
