2023 upgrade

Modern, refreshed, and ready to power your research!

Over the past year, the digital collections team at the University Libraries has been busy migrating our data to a new version of our digital archive. Based on the latest version Islandora, the new platform enhances the type of access you need for your next research project. We are excited to introduce you to the new platform and see how you put it to use!

What's new?

The newest versions of Islandora offer a more modern approach to searching, displaying information, and viewing materials in our Digital Archive.

Searching for an item

When you search for an object in the new version of our repository, you will be given predictive suggestions. If you would like to view the suggested object, simply click on that option and you will be taken straight to that object.

Otherwise, just click on search and you will be given a set of results that you can filter.

Modern layout

The upgraded Digital Archive also includes visual cues that make it easier and more enjoyable to browse. Objects now feature clear labels that reflect whether or not something is an image, document, and recording. Collection pages also feature themed full-width images that help emphasize where you are in the archive when browsing.

Advanced viewers

In addition to the new visuals, we have worked with our vendor to include more advanced viewers for objects. New features include streamlined downloading and a viewer for 3D objects.

Time to explore

The refreshed Digital Archive has a lot to offer, but don't take our word for it. We encourage you to take it for a spin yourself!
