If you have a large number of items to return, please contact us. Staff availability for office visits or researching your purchase options will be limited as demand increases.
Library materials checked out and renewed at least five times will NOT be eligible for manual or auto-renewal this year. For faculty, these are items you’ve had since 2017 or earlier.
With the summer migration to a new library system, the Libraries configured a limit of 5 renewals after the first checkout, for a total of 72 months for faculty and 36 months for staff and graduate students. Once you return items you have checked out you may check them out again, but they are still subject to recall by other University of Nevada, Reno users.
We can return most items to you after they have been checked in and accounted for – just let us know that you’d like to immediately check them out again.
You can view everything you have on your record by logging in to your library account. You can do this by visiting the QUICKLINKS menu in our websites header and selecting My Acccount.
The books you’ve held for more than five years will be identified as “Not Renewable.” Expanding the display on the right will also show you how long you have had the item(s) checked out.
Once returned, if there are no holds for other users, we can check them back out to you if you wish to keep using them.
If you have lost any of the items on your account, have questions, or need assistance returning, please email circ@unr.edu or contact the relevant library service desk listed below. Books that are not returned, will eventually be billed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your attention to this matter.
