Open access
Open access journals: an overview
Open Access differs from traditional publishing models by embracing a financial and operational model that facilitates free, unrestricted access to research findings. Open Access journals are able to eliminate online subscription costs by front-loading costs through article processing fees to authors, and support through sponsorship, advertising, and volunteerism.
Getting started with Open Access
-
NIH Open Access PolicyTo advance science and improve human health, NIH makes the peer-reviewed articles it funds publicly available on PubMed Central. The NIH public access policy requires scientists to submit final peer-reviewed journal manuscripts that arise from NIH funds to PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for publication. This site guides you through the compliance process.

COPE - Committee on Publication EthicsCOPE provides advice to editors and publishers on all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. It also provides a forum for its members to discuss individual cases. COPE does not investigate individual cases but encourages editors to ensure that cases are investigated by the appropriate authorities (usually a research institution or employer).
