Do not pay for an article

The University of Nevada, Reno Libraries can provide the article for you without charge. We can help you find the full-text article online, in print, or by requesting it from another library using Interlibrary Loan.

To find out whether the article that you need is part of the University library collection, or whether to request that article through Interlibrary Loan, follow these steps:

  1. Search Library Search using the main search box on the library homepage for your article by typing the beginning of the article title along with the last name of the author (the first author if there are more than one).
    • For example, for the article citation, below, you might search “ancient figs push back” gibbons. (The quotation marks will search for that exact phrase.)
      • Gibbons, Ann. "Ancient Figs Push Back Origin of Plant Cultivation." Science, vol. 312, no. 5778, 2006, pp. 1292-1292.
  2. Ask a librarian for help finding your article, through chat or email.
  3. If you still cannot find an article, submit an Interlibrary Loan request. It takes about two to three business days to receive an article online through your ILLiad account.
