Library resources
The University Libraries provide access to a wide variety of materials suitable for supplementing or replacing traditional course materials including ebooks, articles, and streaming video. While the library does spend money to purchase access to these resources, students can access them freely.
Using open education resources through the Libraries
You can easily integrate the following resources into WebCampus pages. They can also be made available via electronic course reserves.
The University Libraries provide access to over one million electronic books for students, staff, and faculty. Using ebooks for your course materials is a great way to provide quality content at no additional cost to the student. If you are planning to utilize a library ebook in your course, we ask that you let us know by emailing oer@unr.edu. We will then ensure that we retain access to the ebook as long as you need it.
Articles from online journals or scanned printed articles can either supplement or replace required course textbooks, saving students money. Search our available journal and newspaper articles, both print and online.
The University Libraries provide access to dozens of streaming video databases, with well over 100,000 titles, to support the curricular streaming needs of campus. The videos include documentaries, feature films, ethnographies, primary source materials, and much more. You can learn more about incorporating streaming video into your curriculum on our Streaming video collections page.
