Systematic Review Services

What is a systematic review?

A systematic review is a comprehensive literature review conducted to answer a specific research question. Authors of a systematic review find, code, appraise, and synthesize all of the previous research concerning their question. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) outline the minimum amount of information that needs to be reported at the conclusion of a systematic review project. Other types of what are known as "evidence syntheses” include scoping, rapid, and umbrella reviews.

We can help!

Faculty and staff

Librarians are available to assist University of Nevada, Reno-affiliated researchers (faculty and staff) with evidence synthesis projects, including systematic and scoping reviews.

About our service tiers

We offer two tiers of service, as well as an initial consultation option.

Tier 1 (Acknowledgement)

Librarians assist you at various stages of a review project and help you conduct a thorough, replicable search of the literature.

Tier 2 (Co-authorship)

Librarians serve as members of your research team as experts in search methodology.
