Library Services for Online Students

Not on campus? Not a problem!

You can access readings, videos, reserves items, and an online library guide through your WebCampus course(s). If you need additional sources, the Libraries provide online access to articles, databases, ebooks, streaming videos, and more! All you need is an active NetID.

If you run into trouble with accessing materials online, see our troubleshooting tips or report a problem.

Online resources

Borrowing

  • Use Library Search to request articles and book chapters scanned from both our library and libraries all over the country (and the world).
  • Want a book we have here at the University Libraries? We can ship that to you if you live at least 30 miles away (you must ship the book back insured for $100).

Subject databases

Use a research database to find scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles and other materials related to your topic. Browse the databases list or access a research guide in your subject area to see relevant databases.

Unique collections

The Libraries also offer online access to unique digital assets related to Reno and Northern Nevada. Topics like the natural environment, mining, and cartography are strongly represented in the collections.

Get some research help remotely

Whether you are a self-starter or someone who likes to get one-on-one assistance, we have the help you need.

One-on-one help

You can make an online research appointment with a librarian to get help with your assignment. Just click on the name of the librarian in your subject area to schedule a consultation.

Quick How-Tos

You can chat with a library staff member or use the library’s Quick How-Tos. These “do it yourself” pages provide quick tips and guides on common research tasks, such as finding, evaluating, and citing books, articles, and more.
