The University Libraries provide access to a wide variety of materials suitable for supplementing or replacing traditional course materials including ebooks, articles, and streaming video. While the library does spend money to purchase access to these resources, students can access them freely.
Using library materials for your class
If you are planning to use ebooks or videos available in the library’s collections for your class, please let us know. Online content can come and go from our collections, or we may have access to a video through a short-term license. If we know that resources are being used for classes, we can work to ensure ongoing access.
You can either:
- Submit a reserves request to add the item to course reserves accessed through WebCampus
- Reach out to your department’s subject librarian to confirm ongoing access

Can’t find the resource you are looking for?
As our budget allows, the Libraries will purchase items to support teaching and research. Reach out to your department’s subject librarian to discuss resources you need or submit a request online. Use the media request form for videos or the book purchase request form for print books or ebooks; for subscription resources (journals or databases), please talk to your subject librarian. Note that we do not purchase required textbooks and there are limits to how many videos we can license for a class.
